Root canal treatment (endodontics) is a dental procedure to preserve a natural tooth whose nerve is inflamed or dead. The inflamed or necrotic tissue is carefully removed from the root canal system, the canal is disinfected, prepared and sealed bacteria-proof with a filling. The aim is to eliminate the infection, alleviate pain and keep the tooth functional and pain-free in the long term - usually with a subsequent crowning for protection. We will be happy to discuss in a consultation whether root canal treatment is indicated for your tooth.
