A simple extraction is the removal of a visible tooth with uncomplicated root anatomy. The tooth can be completely removed with standard instruments and without additional bone removal – usually without sutures. A complex (surgical) extraction is necessary if the tooth is impacted, fractured, ankylosed or deep in the bone. This involves flap formation, osteotomy if necessary, tooth division and suture closure. We will be happy to clarify which procedure is indicated for you in a personal consultation.

Computer-assisted implantology makes it possible to plan the exact position of implants on the computer using a 3D model of the patient, thus reducing the wound area, healing time, post-operative symptoms and duration of the procedure. In many cases, it is also possible to remove the teeth on the same day, replace them with implants and restore the entire set of teeth on the same day. Bone augmentation is a reconstructive procedure to restore or increase bone volume in the upper or lower jaw. It is primarily used to create a sufficiently stable and dimensioned bone base for the safe and aesthetically optimal placement of dental implants, particularly in cases of advanced bone loss following tooth loss, periodontitis, trauma or long-term edentulism. Depending on the findings, techniques such as guided bone regeneration (GBR), sinus lift or bone replacement materials are used – always with the aim of achieving long-term, resilient implant anchoring. The sinus lift (sinus floor elevation) is used to vertically augment the bone volume in the posterior maxilla in order to create sufficient bone height for the secure anchoring of dental implants. The required bone augmentation is achieved by gently lifting the maxillary sinus mucosa and inserting bone replacement material – either minimally invasively via the implant drill channel (internal sinus lift) or via a lateral approach (external sinus lift). Both procedures have high success rates and in many cases enable immediate or early implant placement. Targeted correction of gum defects sustainably improves the aesthetics of the smile, optimally prepares the soft tissue for prosthetic restorations and significantly facilitates the daily and professional cleaning of teeth and implants. The most common procedures include covering receding gums (recession coverage), harmonizing an excessive gum-visible smile (gummy smile) and augmentation and stabilization of keratinized gums around implants. All procedures are minimally invasive and performed with high precision to achieve natural, aesthetically pleasing and long-term stable results. Periodontal surgery comprises targeted surgical measures for the treatment of advanced periodontitis. It is used to remove subgingival plaque and tartar (scaling and root planing under vision), regenerate lost bone and soft tissue and correct aesthetic defects such as receding gums (recessions). Resective techniques (e.g. pocket reduction, osteoplasty) eliminate deep periodontal pockets and eliminate foci of bacterial infection. Regenerative procedures (e.g. guided tissue regeneration with membranes, enamel matrix proteins or bone substitutes) promote the reconstruction of lost periodontium. The aim is to stop the progression of the disease, ensure long-term tooth stability and sustainably improve the function and aesthetics of oral health. The removal of cysts (cystectomy) eliminates fluid-filled cavities in the jawbone or soft tissue in order to stop infections, prevent bone resorption and protect neighboring structures. Biopsies are used for histopathological clarification of suspicious lesions in order to reliably differentiate between benign, premalignant or malignant changes and to detect oral carcinomas at an early stage. Both procedures are minimally invasive under local anesthesia and are aimed at rapid healing and precise diagnosis. Root tip resection is used to preserve a tooth with persistent apical inflammation after root canal treatment. The root tip (approx. 2-3 mm) is removed, the inflamed tissue is cleared out and the canal is closed retrogradely. The procedure is minimally invasive under optical magnification and ends with suture closure. The aim is to eliminate the infection, ossify the defect and preserve the tooth in the long term.
